Zweibrücken City Museum

The Zweibrücken City Museum is located in the former residence of the court painter and architect Johann Christian Mannlich (1700–1822) and opened in 1961. The exhibits in the permanent collection tell the story of the city of Zweibrücken and its surrounding region from prehistory and early history onward. Particular attention is paid, among other things, to the rare works of the 18th-century Zweibrücken porcelain manufactory. In addition to the permanent collection, visitors can also explore the ever-changing and fascinating special exhibitions.

Museum of Time (Museum für Zeit – Pfälzisches Turmuhrenmuseum)

Docu Center Ramstein

The Documentation and Exhibition Center is a supraregional institution established in 2007 that provides insight into the history of Americans in Rhineland-Palatinate. Its primary focus is on collecting, preserving, and analyzing documents, artifacts, and information related to German-American and European contemporary history.

Geoskop Museum of Prehistory

Lichtenberg Castle, one of Germany’s largest castles, is home to several museums. One of them is the Geoskop, which provides an overview of the history of the Palatinate Uplands and its archaeological finds (fossils, etc.), as

well as offering a glimpse into the flora and fauna of the West Palatinate in its natural history exhibition.

German Shoe museum in Hauenstein

After World War II, Hauenstein was considered Germany’s largest shoe-making village, with 35 shoe factories. Here, the German Shoe Museum has set itself the goal of linking the past with the present, thereby bringing the history of the German shoe industry to life and ensuring its long-term preservation. The entire exhibition was redesigned and reopened in 2022.
