Beetle Safari
Child-friendly information about nature and the environment, along with activities for the little ones, make this loop a true adventure for the whole family. Luca the stag beetle leads the way on this tour and shares lots of information about nature, the environment, and the forest’s inhabitants on informational signs. At the stations, children can also complete various tasks, such as guessing animal sounds. The Beetle Safari can be divided into a 4 km or 7 km loop and is also accessible with an all-terrain stroller.

Border Crossing Trail
This hiking trail, which runs through Germany and France, has a lot to offer. In addition to stunning views and a varied forest landscape, there are informational signs along the trail providing insights into the history of the border.

We also recommend visiting the Nothweiler iron ore mine, which is located along the route. The hike is also suitable for families with children.

Palatinate donkey
In the Dahner Felsenland, you can enjoy a lovely tour through the Palatinate Forest on donkeys. During the guided hike, you’ll also learn many interesting facts about the animals. In addition to hikes, they offer petting sessions and children’s birthday parties. Animal-assisted therapy is also part of their offerings.

If you’d like to go hiking with donkeys and don’t need a guide to help you handle the animals, Eppenbrunn is the perfect place for you. After a brief introduction and a discussion of the hiking route with personalized tips, you can set off on your own exploration. Multi-day tours and donkey petting sessions are also available.

TiLu Adventure Tree Climbing Park
With 12 courses – three of which are designed specifically for children –visitors can tackle a variety of challenges high above the ground at the former K1 and the Kaiserslautern Climbing Forest, which reopened in 2022. The climbing park is also ideal for school groups, children’s birthday parties, or groups and clubs. After climbing, visitors can recharge with delicious food and drinks at the Waldcafé.
