Just outside Morschheim in the northeastern part of the West Palatinate is a playground located that’s perfect for an adventure-filled break – perhaps while hiking. What makes it special is its pirate ship, as well as a zip line and a maze.

The adventure playground is located in the woods at the foot of Donnersberg. The surrounding area offers hiking trails and points of interest, making the play-ground a convenient stop along the way. In addition, it was up-graded in 2024 with new play equipment, including a zip line, a slide, and informational signs.

There are also lovely playgrounds on the outskirts of the Western Palatinate, such as the one at Dörrbergweiher near Waldmohr. Visitors exploring the nearby sights or hiking in the woods can enjoy a cool break here and find plenty of playground equipment.

The forest playground is located along the hiking trails around the village of Stauf and its castle ruins. In addition to a shelter and seating areas, there are many play structures and climbing frames.

At the water playground in Contwig, next to the outdoor pool, children can play in the water and mud to their heart’s content. Arranged like a lagoon, the play structures are divided into two play areas where children can build and explore to their heart’s content using sand.

The playground in Käshofen combines a multi-generational play area with a water play area, creating a popular gathering spot for people of all ages. Located right next to a stream, it features swings, a slide, and climbing structures, as well as a zip line and water play features.

This nature-themed playground is located in the town of Otterbach, con-veniently situated right along the Pfälzer-Land Cycle Route. A climbing frame, swings, and several other play structures invite children to linger and let off steam.

The Kaiserslautern Garden Show grounds have plenty to offer when it comes to playgrounds. There’s a skate park and a soccer field for teens, while children and teens of all ages can let off steam in the play area, which features a climbing tower and a slide. Plus, a water playground provides a refreshing way to cool off on hot summer days.

If you’re out and about in Glan-Münchweiler with your children, the local playground is highly recommended. It’s spacious and combines a soccer field with play areas and seating.

Families visiting Vogelwoog or exploring the Fuchsfährte Forest Adventure Trail are sure to enjoy the adjacent forest playground. Nestled between the forest and the lake, yet still close to the city, this beautiful recreational area features a swing, a slide, and other play equipment.

The Bruchwiesen Recreation Center is located right next to the indoor swimming pool in Waldfischbach-Burgalben. In addition to a volleyball court and a soccer field, there is also a water playground, a climbing tower, and a zip line for children to enjoy.

Thanks to its size and amenities, the park is an ideal destination and stop-over for visitors of all ages. Conveniently located near bike paths and the handcar track, it features trampolines, a carousel, and a bocce court, among other attractions.

On the southern edge of Obermoschel, right on the Moschelbach stream, there is a multi-generational recreational area that can be incorporated into hikes in the area, such as to Moschellandburg Castle. Among other things, you’ll find a ping-pong table, a basketball hoop, and a water playground here.
